Thank you for Art Prague 2026. We are moving forward with the hot new arrivals!

This year's edition of the contemporary art fair Art Prague 2026 has successfully come to a close. We would like to send a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our Young Real Art exhibition. It was wonderful to meet you in person, discuss the latest art trends with you, and see which artworks captured your hearts the most this year. The atmosphere was fantastic, and your interest in our artists' work charges us with incredible energy for our future endeavors.

We were absolutely delighted to meet so many of you during the fair. At our booth, you also had the chance to meet a number of Young Real Art creators who presented their work and shared the stories behind their pieces. It is precisely these personal encounters that give art an entirely new dimension.

However, the fair is certainly not the end for us. We keep moving forward on our website, bringing you a fresh wave of inspiration from the artists you could see at Art Prague.

A Blooming Series by Matěj Lipavský

If you love nature captured in its most lush, full bloom, do not miss the latest canvases by Matěj Lipavský. His fresh acrylics will transport you right into the middle of a wild, colorful garden.

Among the new arrivals on our website, pieces like Iris Garden, Blooming Irises, or the more intimate Irises are waiting for you. Take a look at our pages, where you can explore additional works by this artist as well.

Meet the Artists from Our Fair Exhibition

The art fair collection is now fully online. Take a look back at the work of artists who represent some of the most exciting talent on the young Czech and Slovak art scene:

  • Jan Harant – A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague from the studio of Prof. Michael Rittstein. His work is built on a specific, relaxed painterly style where the main role is played by personal stories, specific locations with their own distinct atmosphere, and often music, which Jan listens to while working and which directly translates into the mood of his canvases.

  • Eliška Hanuš – An artist whose work uniquely intertwines textile art, printmaking, and fine painting. She completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague in the Textile Studio (under Jitka Škopová and Linda Kaplanové), expanding her scope during internships at Prague's AVU in the painting studio of Robert Šalanda and the printmaking school of Dalibor Smutný. The central motif of her work is nature, often the garden as a safe haven and a space where the human and natural worlds meet. In her works, she captures botanical motifs, buds, and flowers in various stages of growth and seasons. With a sensitive insight, she works with a soft blur, playing with light and color noise, giving her floral and garden compositions a dreamlike, deeply personal atmosphere full of tranquility and nostalgia.

  • Jan Heres – An artist who ranks among the most prominent figures of the rising generation. He graduated from AVU in Prague under the guidance of Prof. Michael Rittstein, and his work has been profoundly shaped by residencies all over the world—from Indonesia and Spain to Miami and Taipei, Taiwan. On these travels, he discovered his specific visual language based on strong stylization, large-format works, and combined techniques. In his predominantly figurative art, he directly reflects the culture and atmosphere of his current surroundings, whether it is Javanese masks, the beach aesthetic of Valencia, or Asian mysticism. A significant, long-term chapter in his work is a cycle inspired by the novel Alice in Wonderland.

  • Adéla Marie Jirků – A painter, illustrator, and writer who, after studying illustration at UMPRUM in Prague and an internship in Marseille, France, graduated from AVU in Prague (receiving her degree in 2011). She is a prominent artist whose work spans fine painting and authorial books. She is a recipient of the SČUG Hollar Award and a nominee for Czech Grand Design for her extensive sixteen-year project—the book Mařka, which tells the story of a deaf-mute woman from the Valašsko (Wallachia) region. The thematic focal point of her painting is the foothill and mountain landscape, particularly that of Wallachia, which she sensitively perceives as a space of lived stories. Her canvases capture forested hills, mountain meadows, old cottages, beehives, haystacks, or portraits of ancient trees, which are often complemented by animal motifs (roe deer, hinds, ducks). A significant parallel line in her work consists of more intimate pieces dedicated to Olga Havlová and Hrádeček.

  • Adam Kencki – A photographer, visual artist, and educator who focuses on documentary and conceptual photography. He holds a doctoral degree and teaches photography at a private university. With a distinctive visual sensibility, he captures people, urban architecture, and the raw reality of everyday life. In mundane situations, he seeks out unusual compositions and places a strong emphasis on the authenticity of the captured moment. In his photographic series, he works with both black-and-white and color mediums, with the geometry of space and the contrast of light and shadow playing a significant role in his work. He follows the human presence in both abandoned and industrial locations, recording snapshots of passersby and minimalist details of architecture in his images from various corners of the world.

  • Matěj Lipavský – A painter, writer, and illustrator who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague (2004–2010), having studied in the painting studio of Prof. Jiří Sopko and the sculpture studio of Prof. Jindřich Zeithamml. He is an artist with a strong literary sensibility, as evidenced by his Magnesia Litera nomination in the Discovery of the Year category for his collection of poems and texts. This poetic perception of the world is deeply reflected in his canvases. The central theme of his work is landscape, the memory of places, and peripheries, frequently painting en plein air in locations he is close to. Rather than literal reality, he captures layers of memories, quiet emotions, and vanishing corners such as old gardens, houses, or mundane details bearing traces of human presence. In his painterly approach, he works with a loose style, prominent color stains, and light, often balancing his paintings on the edge of concrete representation and pure abstraction. In addition to this, he also works as an educator at the Secondary School of Applied Arts (SUPŠ) in Prague ("Žižkárna").

  • David Mazanec – A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava (painting studio of Prof. Daniel Balabán), who also completed a study stay at the Universidad de Granada in Spain, and acquired his secondary school foundations at the Glass School in Železný Brod. In his highly original work, he intertwines Western painting with deep inspiration from Asian culture, philosophy, and calligraphy. His canvases are characterized by sophisticated work with line, symbol, and gesture, as well as the layering of structures and colors, expressing inner peace, meditation, and the spiritual dimension of space on the verge of abstraction.

  • Filip Pošivač – A respected director, animator, and illustrator. He is inscribed on the prestigious IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) Honour List and holds numerous other domestic and international awards for his animated work and illustrations (including an award from the most prominent festival in Annecy, the Berlinale, or the Czech Lion). He infuses his paintings and drawings with a unique poetic quality, a sense of detail, and a strong narrative story. This graduate of the Film and Television Graphics Studio at UMPRUM in Prague also received recognition at the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava (BIB 2015) for the book Jakub a hvězdy (Jacob and the Stars).

  • Ivana Pavlíčková – She currently lives and works in Dresden, where she completed her master's studies in sculpture at HfBK in 2025. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Ostrava (sculpture studio of Prof. Marius Kotrba) and AVU in Prague (figural sculpture studio of Prof. Vojtěch Míča). During her studies, she gained essential international experience through an internship at HfBK Dresden in the studio of Martin Honert (2016) and a residency at the Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop in the UK (2022). In her spatial work, she combines classical materials like terracotta or porcelain with unconventional materials on the border of pop art, conceptual art, and street art. With sharp hyperbole, humor, and irony, she reacts to the phenomena of consumer society, human weaknesses, and art history.

  • Hana Sommerová – A graduate of AVU in Prague (Painting Studio I / School of Robert Šalanda, and Printmaking Studio I / School of Dalibor Smutný). A prominent painter and printmaker, she is also actively involved in organizing art symposia (e.g., Artoleč). In her work, she focuses on capturing fleeting moments, the light transformations of the landscape, soft outlines, and color imprints of presence within space. Through atmospheric canvases that work with the motifs of interior and exterior instead of literal storytelling, she activates the viewer's senses and imagination.

  • Tereza Ščerbová – A graduate of UMPRUM in Prague (Studio of Illustration and Graphics) with experience from a study internship in Switzerland. She is a distinctive painter and a recognized illustrator who has won the prestigious Golden Ribbon award (for her authorial book Krtník and illustrations for the book Škvíry) as well as international recognition in The White Ravens catalogue. Her work stands out for its highly atmospheric visual style, gentle melancholy, and natural structures, while she also dedicates herself to authorial books and magazine illustration.

  • Leoš Suchan – A graduate of AVU in Prague (having passed through the renowned studio of classical painting techniques of Prof. Zdeněk Beran). He is one of the leading figures of contemporary Czech realistic painting. In his work, he masterfully combines almost photographically precise hyperrealism with loose, expressive gestures and abstract textures. On his canvases, he often captures everyday objects, plastic wraps, still lifes with food, or technical motifs with fascinating detail, giving ordinary reality a completely new aesthetic dimension.

  • Filip Švehla – A graduate of AVU in Prague (having passed through the studios of Jaroslav Sopko, Michael Rittstein, and Robert Šalanda) and the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Netherlands. During his career, he has completed numerous international and domestic residencies, including a scholarship at the Summeracademy in Venice, residencies in the USA (Miami, and Gray Nivas Art Residency in New York), and a painting symposium at the Aleš South Bohemian Gallery. His work focuses on exploring space and geometric forms in painting. He works with architectural elements, structure, perspective, and the depth of the image, emphasizing the harmonious relationship between form, line, and the purity of painterly expression.

  • János Vámos – A Slovak artist whose profile blends a background in design with a classical training in painting. After completing both his bachelor's and master's degrees in the design studio of Martin Baláž at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, he subsequently studied painting at AVU in Prague (first in the studio of Robert Šalanda, later under the guidance of Marek Meduna and Petr Dub). An international internship in Barcelona also became a significant impulse for his current artistic direction. In his work, he critically reflects on the limits of the contemporary painting medium in an era of visual oversaturation, where human perception is determined by a permanent flow of information and fragmentary images mediated through screens. He thematizes the phenomenon of scattered attention and redefines the way we perceive reality on the borderline between physical and virtual space.

  • Tip for collectors: All new artworks from Art Prague are already available in our online catalogue. Don't forget that each piece is an original, and only one of you can catch it.

Enjoy the start of summer surrounded by inspiring art.
