WE ARE CELEBRATING 13 YEARS OF YOUNG REAL ART

MY PERSONAL THANKS & A GIFT FOR YOU
Dear art lovers, / Hello,
From the very beginning back in 2013, I built YRA on a clear vision – to create the first purely online gallery of its kind in Europe and connect you directly with the studios of young artists. The idea of supporting art students and graduates was born during my own studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU) under Vladimír Skrepl and Jiří Kovanda. Back in the nineties, it didn't work out without the internet, but twenty years later it did – and today, we are going full speed ahead.

Dear Art Lovers,
Right from the start in 2013, I built YRA on a clear vision – to create the first purely online gallery of its kind in Europe and connect you directly with the studios of young artists. The idea to support fine arts students and graduates was already born during my studies at AVU under Vladimír Skrepl and Jiří Kovanda. Back in the nineties, it didn't work out without the internet, but twenty years later it did – and today, we're going full speed ahead.

A few days ago, Young Real Art celebrated 13 years, and what brings me the greatest joy are the human stories behind it. I love recalling how some of my friends started with a small painting by Filip Pošivač or Jan Heres and grew into passionate collectors. And vice versa – many of our customers and collectors have become my close friends over the years. I am immensely grateful for this trust.
Even after thirteen years, I still truly enjoy visiting art academies across the Czech Republic and Slovakia to discover new talent directly at end-of-term evaluations. At the same time, I regularly visit art fairs and exhibitions across Europe to keep up with current trends. Personal contact with the artists is just as important to me as the quality of their work – it is the only way we can continue to offer you genuine and original art.

To celebrate our anniversary, our artists, including Filip Švehla, Jan Heres, Peter Pauko, Eliška Hanuš, and Lívia Mezovská, have prepared exceptional new artworks. As a gesture of thanks, I have prepared a 5% discount on all artwork with the code YRAnarozeniny13, which is valid in your cart from October 8 to October 22, 2026.
However, I don't build Young Real Art alone. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Klára Quawash for carefully preparing these newsletters, Miroslav Franěk, who selflessly delivers artworks around Prague and far beyond even at 5 AM, and Roman Valenta for his critical eye and wonderful photo documentation of the studios and end-of-term evaluations.
A huge thank you also goes to all the artists, some of whom have been with me at Young Real Art from the very beginning.
Thank you all for being part of this journey.
Jana Laštovka
founder and owner of Young Real Art

And soon you can look forward to another interview paired with a studio visit, this time with Matěj Lipavský.
