Painter with the White Cane

When Tatiana Kucharova Foundation - Beauty of Help asked Young Real Art for help with preparing an exhibition, Ladislav Machacek, Painter with the White Cane, it was accepted with enthusiasm. The Beauty of Help Foundation focuses on helping elderly people to live with dignity in their own homes.
Ladislav Machacek is an 86 years old, visually impaired painter. Despite his disability, he pursued a distinctive artistic career. Painter with the White Cane is his 7th solo exhibition. It is currently taking place in Villa Pelle in Prague until 5th February 2015, and is featuring his oil paintings from 1960 to 1990.

The exhibition private view took place in a warm, congenial atmosphere in a close circle of Ladislav Machacek's friends and fans. Jana Lastovka, the founder of Young Real Art and Tatiana Kucharova, the founder of Beauty of Help Foundation were there, celebrating with Ladislav Machacek. Everyone was proud to put together such a wonderful show.
Many of the paintings in the exhibition depict scenes from the artist's childhood: his home town, nearby forests and meadows, his country house in Kostelec Upon Elbe and, of course, women. The ordinariness of the theme is suppressed by the authentic rendering and the hint of mystery - Ladislav Machacek made many painting trips to paint in plain air at night. Central to the exhibition is a painting called Leto na Labi (Summer on Elbe), 1962, which depicts a summer afternoon in Jirice. The perfectly formed clouds, the almost completely still river, and the women, bring tranquility to the painting.
Ladislav Machacek, The Painter with the White Cane exhibition is open until 5th February 2015 at Villa Pelle, Pelleova 10, Prague. http://villapelle.cz/en/
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
