Moonlake

Moonlake, 2024
30 x 21 cm (frame)
22 x 15 cm (painting)
watercolour, gouache, pastel
framed in a black frame, mounted in midnight blue
In this painting, I tried to capture a mysterious and dreamlike moment - a being that is not quite human walking into still water filled with water lilies. This motif is emphasized by a unique combination of colors, where the cool and intense shades of blue and green are brightened by a golden, warm glow that doesn't just come from the buds of the water flowers, but emanates directly from this mysterious being.
